Lion's Share Food Pantry Needs Your Help
Our neighbors are still hungry and the Lion's Share Food Pantry at St. Mark's church in Jackson Heights needs your help. Since COVID hit we have seen the number of families using our pantry more than quadruple to over 400, and their needs are greater. We have used all the money we have previously raised. Your generosity during this time of need will enable us to continue to feed everyone who comes to our doors.
We are putting out a special request to public school families who received yet another pEBT benefit (pandemic food stamps, up to $1,320 per child for the 2020-2021 school year) to donate some of that money to the Lion's Share pantry. We are unfortunately unable to accept individually issued EBT cards, but hope that having that extra benefit on hand will enable families to make a monetary donation.
Please share our campaign widely and consider empowering the younger generation to get involved with promotion. We will be updating this site with pictures and quotes from younger people supporting the campaign!
We are so grateful to our generous community for your continued support.
