Lipstick on the Mirror - Shining a Light on Suicide
Donation protected
My Mother’s suicide has haunted me for almost 40 years, and now I say “ENOUGH”!
Enough isolating and beating yourself up, while pretending everything is “fine”. Enough of the stigma around Depression. Enough tragic, preventable deaths! Enough confusion and loss for those left behind.
My goals are simple: remove the stigma around Depression so that people seek help (rather than isolating, spiralling and committing suicide). I will do that by sharing my own story, and interviewing mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, daughters and sons, veterans, and those considering MAID, to hear firsthand how they have struggled with depression,, attempted suicide or lost loved ones. We will explore cutting edge science, cultural (including Indigenous) and religious beliefs and practices, and meet world renowned experts who offer a wide range of alternatives and resources so that people seek help and choose life! I promise to inform, inspire and turn this tragic tide!
Lipstick on the Mirror will be a 90-minute documentary that will also follow my journey to understand and make peace with my Mom - and honour her memory.
Please help me turn this tragic tide by diving into the wellspring of humanity to make sense of life’s inevitable trials - and find meaning, purpose and joy on the other side.
