Funeral Expenses for my Mom, Lisa A. Helda

Hi everyone. My name is Nick Helda. On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, my beautiful mother Lisa passed away at our home in Lancaster after a long 5 year battle with Early-Onset Dementia/Alzheimers Disease. For those who do not know, this disease is fully draining on both the affected and the caregivers. It is a cruel disease, one that is a slow progression until the ultimate end result of death. Her husband, my Dad, Tom Helda, was her primary caregiver until his death in March of this past year. As a result, I was forced to become my Mom’s primary caregiver and also deal with the aftermath of my Dad’s passing. Despite losing my father in March and becoming my mother’s primary caregiver, I found strength in their love for me to carry on. With my mother passing, the funds are just not there to help send her off in a way that she would deserve. My goal of $7,900 will cover the entire cost of my mother’s funeral, as well as any necessary money needed to keep my house in Lancaster going. It is a very hard thing for me to ask for money, but I am just struggling hard financially while still also grieving for both my parents. I am only 26 years old and I’ve had more loss in the last year than probably most people my age. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and ease this burden off myself so she can have a deserving send off.
