Lisa Anderson Liver Transplant

Donation protected
My sweet sister-in-law, Lisa Anderson, is going to have a Liver Transplant! Over the years, Bryan and Lisa have done SO much to lift and care for others, now it’s time for us to show THEM the love and support they’ll surely need during this difficult season of time in their family’s lives.
Although Lisa does an amazing job of hiding it, she has long struggled with a genetic disease (PKD) that causes hundreds of cysts to grow on her kidneys and liver. Over the years, the cysts have grown so numerous and large that the doctors have now recommended a transplant. She had half of her liver removed six years ago but it grew back larger than before and is now five times the size of a normal liver! This has made normal life for Lisa extremely difficult! The liver is so large it pushes on her stomach and causes difficulty and pain. Bending, tying her shoes, getting in or out of a car or simple movements have become almost impossible. Her liver sits so high in her ribcage that even taking deep breaths is difficult!
On Monday, July 11th, her transplant was finally approved by the National Transplant Board as well as the University of Utah. Thankfully she has donors lined up and the U has already begun testing to find a match. The transplant will be happening soon.
Lisa is one of the most positive, happy, caring people I know! I was, and you may be thinking “I had no idea Lisa was sick or in pain or nauseated all the time. I never would have guessed.” Well, she is, and she is very good at hiding it! She is one that is always serving others - reaching out, lending a listening ear or taking dinner to others in their time of need. She hasn’t wanted people to know about her condition because she likes to focus on others. If there is a conversation and someone asks about her, she quickly turns it back to the other person and truly wants to know how they are doing!
We wanted to put this fundraiser out there at this time for Lisa (and my brother, Bryan) as a way of showing support! Thank you so much for your love, support, thoughts, and prayers.
