Help Professor Lisa Boggs, Duncan and hearing dog
Donation protected

Although Lisa has cochlear implants, she still depended on Duncan to alert her to the alarm clock, smoke detector, knocks on the door, ect. In February, Duncan was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor around his heart. Lisa made the gut-wrenching decision to have Duncan put down and then brought him home to her front yard as his final resting place. It has been a disheartening process for Lisa to grieve the loss of her safety net and best friend.
Although it was emotionally hard, the search for another hearing aid dog had to begin. The organization that Lisa had used for her two previous dogs said that there was a waiting time of over a year to get another dog. The search continued and an organization (ACTS) that mainly trains dogs for wheelchair bound individuals looks promising. One particular dog just wasn’t really working out with the program they use, but the people at ACTS felt the dog would be a good fit for Lisa and decided to move forward with the application process.
The medical expenses for Duncan were in the thousands and the new dog will cost $5,000. She will also have to fly to and stay for two weeks in Conway, New Hampshire to train with the dog. This GO FUND ME is to help Lisa get back into a safe home and work environment with a loving furry companion.
Your kindness and generosity will help so much and your donation is greatly appreciated!
