LISA COCONATE critically injured head on collision

While driving to work on the early morning of Sunday, February 21st, 2021, my dear, sweet, innocent, little sister, Lisa Coconate, was in a head on collision accident outside Chicagoland suburbs. 

Lisa was rushed to a trauma hospital and suffered TBI, Traumatic Brain Injury (bleeding in brain), and underwent emergency surgery on her left arm where her arm bone separated from her wrist.  Lisa broke her humerus, radius and elbow in her right arm along with her right foot, ankle, heel and right pelvic and many other fractures.   This has been a complete nightmare for our family! Our little Lisa was unconscious, unresponsive and on a ventilator for 10 days in the SICU, Surgical Intensive Care Unit.  Neurosurgeons diagnosed Lisa with Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI) and her traumatic brain injury will result in long-term care assistance with physical, occupational, and speech therapy at a specialized medical rehabilitation facility. 

Although she has not regained full consciousness, my sister made small movements showing my family and I that she can hear us. We are so proud of Lisa's strength and continue to pray for her to heal.
