Lisa Cuffe's Sledding Accident Recovery

Hello friends and family of William and Lisa Cuffe!

As you might already know, Lisa had a terrible sledding accident on Saturday. Lisa had her 5 year old daughter on her lap and as they descended down a hill on a sled, they hit a patch of ice and ended up crashing into a park bench.

The good news is that Lisa's young daughter is totally ok! The other good news is that the injuries weren't life-threatening.

The bad news, however, is sobering. Lisa broke both ankles plus her left tibia. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery the next day. She will have another surgery in about 6 weeks as well. Between now, the second surgery, plus the recovery time after that, Lisa will not be able to put any weight on either leg. She will be in a wheelchair for months and very limited in her mobility. She's hoping to regain some limited mobility by her birthday in April.

As you might imagine, this has an immense and immediate impact on the entire Cuffe family. At the time of my writing this (1/16), Lisa is still hospitalized. At this time, we are unsure whether Lisa will be released home or to a rehab facility. Either way, this is an expensive ordeal. Lengthy hospital stays, medical equipment rentals, lost work time for both parents... the financial pressure is already present.

Lisa has been a dear friend to so many, myself included. We met in high school choir when we were 14 years old and have been like sisters ever since. She has been at every major event in my life, from my wedding and the birth of my child, to all my misadventures in-between. Lisa and William are wonderfully dear to so many of us, always going the extra mile to show up and support their wide network of friends and family.

Let's make sure that they are well supported now, at a time that they really need it. Every dollar donated will go directly to Lisa's care, recovery, and to financially support the whole Cuffe family. Thank you so much for your care and assistance!
