Recently we lossed our beloved Lisa. Lisa the mama, nana, and foster mom. Lisa the mom to bonus kids everywhere. Lisa the wife. Lisa the friend and family. Lisa the pastry chef. Lisa the master of comfort, and comfort food. Lisa the saver of all lost souls. Lisa the pusher of those lacking in confidence. Lisa the holder of accountability. Lisa the giver. Lisa the creator. Lisa the professional student. Lisa the guide and warm heart to all who cross her path.
There is just never a replacement for such a soul. Shes left behind 7 kids, 4 grandkids, over 80 foster kids most of whom she was still acting as mother to from all over the United States, and several handfuls of bonus kids she just picked up and decided to love along the way. Lisa had endless family members that loved her dearly. She has given her entire life to helping any and every single person she could. And throughout all of that, had multiple degrees from her many endeavors. All of which came from the intent to help humanity and care for others. Here's a small excerpt from her husband's tribute to her.
"You filled our home with friends and laughter; We threw glorious parties, but I really never knew that those quiet moments with you is why they all came; you knew what each person needed, that secret ingredient to complete their soul; a push on the back, or just someone to listen, a word of encouragement when we needed it most; your Nicole says it best, you’re the glue that held us all together, you opened our home and shared each life; I’ll never forget the first of the rest of your children; Broken little souls who had just been ripped from the only life they knew; It was always the same, a ring at the doorbell, late at night while the rest of the world slept; two brothers [or sisters] in blue and the look on their faces, knowing this was something only you could make right; between them stood a child, shivering in fear and holding a trash bag, their whole lives possessions gathered that night; God gave you your smile—his greatest of all of his creations—for these tender moments, when only an angel could comfort these tiny displaced souls; you would take their hand, your soft little whispers, oh what I’d give to know what you said; a hairbrush or comb, a bath and warm towel, I never interfered with your special time; their fear would melt, their little bodies would stop trembling, the most beautiful site on earth as a child would lose themselves in your motherly embrace;"
Lisa's health declined over the last several months after 7 years of truly kicking cancers ass. She faught so hard, and down to her last days was still only concerned with how the possibility of her not making it would emotionally effect those who love her. Luke her husband did not leave her side, and made sure that she spent all her final time on this earth in the company of love.
Unfortunately life is not fair, and bills still keep coming in the mail, as unforgiving of such a loss as could be. He was unable to work and care for her simultaneously, so work had to wait. It was her most needed time and he refused to leave her with just the doctors for care, so he stayed by her side for months in the hospitals just to make sure she knew how much she was loved. If there is anyone more deserving of your help than Lisa, Luke, and their children, I have yet to meet them. And though she would say please help them first anyway, her family could really use help to get things back in order financially, pay off medical bills, and have some time to properly grieve. Please feel free to add any funds here, or if you prefer sending something offline you can use the contact option to reach out for an address or discuss other alternatives. Thank you all for your continued support.
