Sadly Lisa passed away on November 4, 2020.
I am sorry it took me so long to post this update but each time I sit down to post I have been overwhelmed by sadness and decided to wait for another day.
I am still sad but my mind wanders away to happier times now.
Times of fond remembrance – things we did when we were in high school, when we both were newly married, when we worked together and just times we talked quietly together.
We all have fond memories of times with Lisa and that is how she would want to be remembered - as a loving mother, sister, aunt, friend and in my case soul sister.
Those of us who truly knew Lisa loved her zest for life, quick wit and endearing laughter.
Before her passing she tried to meet with as much family as she could to let them know how much they had meant to her.
She will be watching over us to nudge us in the right direction or in some case give us a swift kick in the butt when we go off course.
Since she has passed Jessie and Michael had their little bundle of joy, Amelia Grace. She will have her own special guardian angel.
When we are Covid safe her family will gather for a celebration of her life and that will be a joyous occasion.
I wanted to thank everyone for giving in the past to help Lisa with her overwhelming medical bills, prescription cost and household expenses so that she could focus more on living and being present in our lives.
You were most generous and I know what she really appreciated everyone’s help and prayers.
Although Lisa is gone, the massive bills still remain.
The season of giving is upon us and once again I am asking you to help Lisa’s family.
Any amount is greatly appreciated, and all contributions go directly to her surviving children to close out the lingering expenses.
October 2020 Update -
* I thought it was time to give you an update on Lisa and her ongoing battle with cancer.
Everything I told you about Lisa previously is still true:
“She is an amazingly beautiful sister, Child of God, Survivor, Fighter and Sustainer of Life, funny, quick witted, a devoted mother and best friend ever”
She enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren and siblings when she can. She is looking forward to her 3rd grandchild and helps to make sure the first two keep up with their online schooling. As always, she is a force to be reckoned with.
She continues to fight with grace and determination.
In the last few months Lisa has been experiencing some difficulty with her mobility.
She has fallen several times while walking and has even fallen while getting out of bed on two occasions.
She needs an electric bed that can lift to the proper height to allow her more ease getting into and out of bed. However, she will have an out of pocket cost over $100.00 each month for this needed item.
Because of her balance she is having great difficulty getting up and down the two level of stairs in the home. She has to sit down on the step and lower herself to the next and getting back up is more difficult. She desperately needs to have chair lifts installed in the home. A company has been located that will sell and install them for $6500.
For the same reason, she can no longer use the outside front steps. She has been using the back steps of which there are less. However, there is no landing, no handrail and they have begun to sag. To improve and replace them by adding a landing to step out onto and rail would be approx. $500.
In addition to the items listed above the clothes dryer has stopped working and will cost approximately $500.00 to purchase a new one.
And as you know she already struggles with her paying for her much-needed cancer treatment, prescriptions, blood and platelet transfusions and the mortgage.
And although she does have insurance, Medicare only pays 80% of the cost of her treatments and that means that she must come up with the other 20%.
For these reasons we need to raise enough money to get the items she needs and help the family through the next few months.
Any amount is greatly appreciated, and all contributions go directly to Lisa in assisting with exorbitant medical bills, prescription costs, needed mobility equipment and other household expenses.
Prayers are always welcome and continue to be needed.
Please share with on your social media accounts.
