Lisa, George & Max’s Flood Repairs
Donation protected
Lisa and George bought their house in December 2018 with Lisa’s son, Max, and their dog, Ruby. On July 8, the DC area was hit with torrential rain, causing catastrophic flash flooding in some neighborhoods. Lisa, Max, and Ruby were home when the floodwater rapidly filled their entire basement and came 3.5 feet up the first floor walls in the span of just 30 minutes.
Lisa’s parents helped evacuate them to safety, but the majority of their possessions are completely destroyed. Since the floodwater mixed with raw sewage, everything the water touched needs to be trashed. The house will be uninhabitable for many months, and insurance will not cover a cent of the damage.
They would never ever ask for anything, but are forced to start over from scratch. If you feel so inclined and are wondering how you can help, this is the place. Thank you for your kind words, thoughts, meals, and support. Lisa, George, Max, and Ruby appreciate all of you more than you can know.
