Lisa Gibson

This is about to be a fairly long story, so buckle up. I’m doing this fundraiser in hopes to raise money for a future funeral, bills, gas, and everything in between. Lisa Gibson (my mama) has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. For those of you who don’t know “metastatic” just means the cancer has spread from its original location. Mama had breast cancer in 2020. She fought so hard and went through several months of “the red devil” which is the harshest chemo. She went through months of radiation, and finally had surgery to get that removed. She was able to ring the bell. After so many hard months of fighting, she did it, she had whooped cancers butt. In October of 2022 she began throwing up a lot and then getting very sick. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis. She was in and out of the hospital for a few weeks. The last week of November she was hospitalized and we found out very quickly it was not pancreatitis, but stage 4 cancer that had now spread throughout her entire lemphatic system. She started chemo a Thursday and was in the ICU the very next day. She fought hard and a few weeks later we were able to get her out of the hospital for good. She made it home a week before Christmas. She continued on with Chemo in hopes she could beat cancer a second time. She began getting very weak, not being able to eat, not being able to drink, and she was throwing up 24/7. The last few weeks she has spent spending time with her siblings in Mississippi. She finally decided to come back to Tennessee to see her Cancer doctor. After discussing everything that mama has been experiencing over the past few weeks he tells us there is nothing more that can be done. This precious woman has fought the hardest battle anyone can fight. She has given it all she had, it just sometimes that can’t be beat. With the news being thrown on us and none of us being financially prepared any little things helps.
