Lisa Hutton - Support for Family

Lisa is a wife (married to Chris Hutton), mother of 3  and grandmother.  Lisa became suddenly ill in mid December with a  rare syndrome affecting 1 out of 100,000 people, called Guillain-Barré Syndrome.  She  has been in ICU since mid December 2016  and  due to the unpredictability of this illness the doctors are not sure how long she will be in ICU. They don't know how someone gets this and it affects the body like an auto immune disease damaging the nervous system. Lisa is not able to move, breathe on her own/talk etc. She is fully coherent and can move her head slightly to nod yes or no. She will most likely have a long recovery.  Lisa was very healthy prior to this being an athlete and marathon runner.    Chris (her husband) has also recently been taken off work for a medical condition and will be having surgery soon with a hospital recovery and then a home recovery.   Both Lisa and Chris have worked all their lives and are never sick!  Their friends have started this GoFundMe to help the family out financially during the recovery.  Lisa will be off work for an extensive period (average recovery is 6-12 months) requiring intensive therapy to learn to walk  again etc.  Chris has been off due to his medical condition and will be off for some time during both the hospital and home recovery.  As we all know to suddenly loose the majority of your income and rely on sick benefits this would be difficult for any of us.  Since there is no known “cure” for Guillain-Barré syndrome, only therapies to lessen the severity of the illness, Lisa's recovery could take months or even Years (for a full recovery). Remember, GBS patients face not only physical difficulties, but emotionally painful periods as well. It is extremely difficult for patients to adjust to sudden paralysis and dependence on others for help with routine daily activities. So we ask you, as friend's of Chris and Lisa, please donate whatever you can to help with expenses, therapies etc and yes, every little bit helps. Prayers graciously accepted as well.
