Celebrations of Life for Lisa Jacobs

Dear Friends & Family,

 

Since our last update, Lisa continues to face her cancer battle head-on: having just completed an intensive round of radiation to treat the brain tumors. While this has left her with some challenging side effects, it has not dampened her spirit to continue the fight.

 

To that effort, her team of caregivers has researched and vetted a number of alternative treatment centers that offer solid evidence-based holistic protocols to complement her allopathic oncology plan, which has led Lisa to The Riordan Clinic in Kansas City: https://riordanclinic.org/

 

After completing an exhaustive application (thanks to the perseverance of Maggy Dumphy), she has been accepted into the program.  This will entail a comprehensive assessment, which will lead to a customized protocol that will include nutrition, supplementation and movement – designed to fortify her immune system and energy level to synergistically combat the cancer, while improving her quality of life.  This approach has been fully endorsed by her oncology team, and will instill a sense of confidence and empowerment that she is doing everything in her power to be beat the disease.

 

Her goal is to complete her next round of chemotherapy in Denver, then drive to Kansas City with David in early August.  Her course of treatment will last from 4-7 days, whereby she will receive daily treatments at the clinic and spend the evenings with David at a nearby Airbnb.

 

This treatment approach, and the associated travel expenses, are not covered through her medical insurance. With that in mind we want to reignite the current funding effort to ensure that she can meet this moment with an optimistic sense of purpose that doesn’t get clouded by the financial burden. 

 

Throughout this grueling battle Lisa is continually uplifted by the groundswell of love and support manifesting itself in countless ways that fuel her physically, emotionally and spiritually.  This integrative treatment approach promises to harness her innate healing power, so we hope that you can contribute to the effort in whatever way you can.
