Lisa had routine blood work in April of 2022 like she does every year to adjust her one prescription. The blood work came back with renal failure. It must be wrong!!! Another blood sample was taken days later with the same result. After kidney and bone marrow biopsies, Lisa was diagnosed May 28th with Multiple Myeloma – Blood Cancer. It has been diagnosed very early and the hematologist and well as the Oncologist are very optimistic. Please do yourself a favor and schedule yearly bloodwork if not for you or your family.
You would never know that Lisa has been taking Chemo injections and pills since June of 2022. She is an amazing, beautiful mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend to so many. She and her husband have kept her diagnosis from most. Lisa is reacting so well to the treatment, she is now in remission and ready for a bone marrow transplant using her own red stem cells.
The harvesting of her stem cells, the chemotherapy of eliminating her bone marrow and then replacing them the next day is going to be all done out-patient. She will go through weeks of testing and therapy. Her husband is her caregiver and wouldn’t want it any other way. Lisa along with her husband will be confined to the house for weeks because she will have all her immunizations and inoculations since birth removed and slowly reintroduced to her body.
Lisa and her husband are prepared and ready to take this on 110%. She will make a full recovery but it will take time as you can imagine. Any donations to help with medical costs, special dietary foods and supply deliveries, and sanitizing the house, cars and ventilation system that will allow her to recover faster will be greatly appreciated. She will need the next year to fully recover and will be better than ever. Lisa and her husband will be in lockdown with limited time outside of their house throughout this calendar year.
Please consider donating to relieve some of the stress that Lisa, her husband and her family will be going through for the next year. Please continue to pray.
Please don't reach out to the family at this time. As you could imagine they are going through a lot. Randy will be setting up a Caring Bridge page with updates.
