Lisa our Wonder Woman
Donation protected
Hi
im Julie, and I’ve been asked on several occasions about donations towards my sisters recovery so I’ve decided to create a go fund me page.
my sister lisa started feeling poorly June of last year (2023) after many trips to the hospital to undergo several tests they diagnosed her with blood cancer / which explained why she was feeling so ill and weak, for someone who prides herself on being strong and a dedicated farmer this was hard for her to come to terms with.
she started chemotherapy and had 5 rounds which was a very draining and was a testing time. On 11th of April she packed her bags and I drove her to the church hill hospital to undergo a bone marrow transplant, so on the 12th she had a giant dose of chemotherapy to totally wipe out her immune system so that her body wouldn’t reject the transplant ( which a lovely lady from Finland donated)
the transplant took place on the 13th, and went well but the after effects have taken a toll on her mind body and spirit.
it’s not easy to watch a loved one so poorly and can’t imagine what she feels like, she’s only having close family visitors, she’s in a room of her own to reduce the risk of infection.
so now we wait for her to start growing her own bone marrow which could take 2 - 3 weeks and then hopefully she should start feeling much better.
hopefully if we meet our target it will go towards making precious memories when she returns home x
