Loving Lisa

Hi our names are Howard and Lynda and we set up 22 July this Gofundme for dear Lisa Prince. This is so that Lisa and Don can concentrate on fighting Lisa’s illness.

We want to give a little update today 24 July just to say - completely blown away with your FANTASTIC support - words fail! Just imagine what your support means for Lisa and for Don at a time like this - they are completely overwhelmed, humbled and grateful for all your support. It's so wonderful.

It’s already been a long and difficult road for Lisa of course and now her chemo journey is about to begin. Friday 26 July Lisa will be embarking on the first hit of chemotherapy so lots of love and thoughts going her way that's for sure.

That's our little update for today, 24 July :-) thank you to everyone.

Here’s an update on the journey so far, which Don has put together:

Events of Lisa's health Journey.

As you know we moved to Australia in December in the hope that we would have other drugs available to us, should the medication Lisa was already on stop working.

In May we had a PET scan which showed us that the cancer has comeback. So in June we changed to a new Medication.

Then Lisa got a lung infection causing intensive pain, during treatment for this they found lesions on the liver.

Thursday 18th July: Lisa's pain returned worse than it was before, scans revealed the cancer had increased in size in the liver with new legions.

Friday 19th July the Oncologist did more scans and tests. We were then given the sad news that the medication is not working. The only option we have available now is to try chemotherapy. We both realise that things are now very terminal and while chemo will slow things down there is no guarantee.

Of course, Lisa has had to stop work again to concentrate on chemo. It is not an option for Lisa to travel at the moment so we won't be able to return to NZ. Lisa & I would love to see you all soon but understand that it not possible for everyone to come. Lisa's pain is being managed well at the moment with steriods to stop inflammation to the liver and is popping the paracetamol & ibuprofen.

This week commencing 26th July Lisa will start chemotherapy, I pray that she will not suffer too much pain with this and it will be successful.
