Lisa Salmeron's Battle with Cancer
Donation protected
Hello to all of our Facebook family and friends. We are starting a gofundme for Lisa Steele Salmeron as a result of her recent diagnosis of stage three cervical cancer. As most of you know, she had previously fought for her life in 2012 when she suffered a deadly brain aneurysm. She is very fortunate to have survived but we all know what a strong person she is. I'm sure everyone remembers her rhinestone eye patch photos. She has always been different and we all agree that if anyone can make it through it would be Lisa. As unfair as it sounds, she is now facing another battle for her life with this recent diagnosis that has put much strain on her as well as her family. Starting in October of last year, she wasn't feeling well and her Dr. treated her for a UTI. After three months of antibiotics, she still wasn't feeling well and that's when we knew it had to be something more.
You have probably noticed her absence from Facebook
recently, She also has another page called "Beastly Burdens", where she shares her love for crafting alternative dolls. Lisa has not been able to resume her hobby considering these recent complications. She has been dealing with immense pain from her cancer these last couple of months and has been mostly bedridden as a result. So far, she has undergone a bladder stent surgery to reduce the swelling in her kidneys. A few weeks ago she started to hemorrhage and was rushed to Charleston to try and control the bleeding. She has since gone through four blood transfusions and two heavy doses of radiation. She is now back home from the hospital and has since begun her daily radiation treatment and is soon to start chemotherapy. Her youngest son Steel, has left college and cannot work as he is her only means of transportation to the hospitals in Charleston/Little River and her treatment facilities. Her daughter Montanah, is still in school for nursing but is also helping to care for her. Lisa cannot be alone and requires constant care, we desperately want to ease her financial burden so she can concentrate on this fight. She has been on disability since having the brain aneurysm and has sold her creations on Etsy for extra income. With her son not being able to leave her side and her not being able to create her art they will be facing heavy financial strain. Her medical bills are starting to pile up and the money for hotels back and forth from Charleston to see specialists are not cheap. There are also gas and medical supplies that need to be accounted for. We would greatly appreciate any help at all so that we can see Lisa happy and healthy again, thank you all so much.
