Lisa Duncan's Cremation
Donation protected
My name is Ashley Downey and along with my brother Shawn Duncan we are asking for your help.
Two days ago we received a call that our mom was in the hospital. We found out that she had a seizure at her home and was brought to the hospital. Once at the hospital the doctors noticed she had a bleed in her brain. My mom has had many strokes and seizures over the past few years so this last one just took a toll on her brain. The doctors put a drain in her head to help relieve the pressure but over the past couple days she hasn't had much improvement. The doctors have said with the amount of trauma her body has already gone through the surgery they could perform on her brain to find the exact problem would just kill her.
Unfortunately she has not improved and as her children we've been left with the hard responsibility of making the decision to withdrawal life support. After careful consideration and long talks with her medical team we’ve decided that a life hooked to tubes is no way to live. We know our mom would not want to live that way either.
So as of Friday February 5th she will be put into hospice care for a comfortable pain free passing. But now that we’ve made that hard decision we are now left with the responsibility of figuring out what to do next. We can’t afford a funeral service so all we would like to do is fulfill our moms wish to be cremated. This is still hard for us to afford by ourselves. We are asking if anyone would be willing to help us with the cost to be able to do this for our mom. We would not be asking if we didn’t truly need it. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
