The world lost a beautiful soul on Friday December 11th. Lisa Barnard was the smiling face in every room. Her smile and laughter made it easy to befriend everyone she crossed paths with. Lisa was a light in this world that brought joy, excitement, and love.
Lisa was a dedicated and passionate person, giving 110% commitment to everything she was involved in, whether it was lacrosse, Phi Sigma Sigma, coaching, school, or her work. She excelled in teaching and sharing her passion for fitness and lacrosse. After winning the NE-10 Championship for the University of New Haven, Lisa earned a Masters of Education in Exercise Science. Lisa was a certified strength and conditioning coach. She used her expertise and experience as a collegiate lacrosse coach in Ohio. Her latest passion was running a youth lacrosse club and national tournaments. Her staff and players enjoyed the knowledge and love Lisa brought to the sport.
Lisa's tremendous heart went beyond athletics. She was a mother's best friend, a brother's running companion and so much more. Lisa empowered her family and friends to enjoy life, seek adventures and laugh uncontrollably. With a heart of gold and the spontaneity unlike any other, Lisa brought out the best in the ones she loved. She was their biggest supporter, pushed them out of their comfort zones and challenged them to be the best version of themselves. There is not a single person that could walk away from Lisa without smiling. Whether it was her infectious laughter, crazy dances, or eccentric collections that included rubber ducks and crazy socks, Lisa was authentically herself all the time- and you loved her even more for that.
In order to alleviate some of the unexpected costs that come along with this horrific tragedy, this gofundme page was established to ease the burden on Lisa's mother, Kris. Please help support their family during this extremely difficult time. Anyone that knew Lisa, knew how selfless she was and would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need.
