Thank you everybody for taking a moment to read something important for somebody we all know and love. Our friend Lisha Ewing (Hasty to the OG’s) has been getting the same bad news from doctors for years. Time after time she goes in with severe discomfort and pain (this time a hernia) and she is told that she has to lose a lot of weight. She has been down this road, logging every calorie, counting every bite, and cannot get to the place she needs so that safe medical intervention can happen. Her last doctor told her that the weight loss surgery was imperative, if she wanted to live to see her beautiful daughter grow up. 

In this country healthcare is not a right, and although Lisha is fully and gainfully employed as is her husband, but this surgery is considered an exclusion of coverage. It is very much a life and death surgery needed to address various health issues. The Support Staff of the Year recipient just two short years ago, somebody lifting up the entire district with with her love and positivity is left in a situation where she needs the support of those she has inspired throughout her life. The need is great and situation doesn’t seem fair, but it is the world that we are currently living in. 

So I am asking you today, to think about Lisha and the kind words she has thrown your way. The sneaky ways that she has lifted you up, has made you smile, has helped you when you had an emergency. She is not asking you to pay her back for that, but I am. Every little bit would help in her journey to health and comfort. Even if you can only spare a few dollars for the cause, it would mean the world to somebody who has continuously done so much for others.
