Lismari's Struggle: A Family's Plea for Help

As of November 2023, my mother, Lismari Cuevas, had unexpectedly developed an autoimmune disease called “Eosinophilia–myalgia syndrome.” My mother has been healthy throughout her whole entire life, until recently. This has affected her in concerning ways. With this coming out of nowhere and progressively getting worse by the day, it has taken a huge impact on me and my family. With Eosinophilia–myalgia syndrome, it prevents her from daily activities like walking, breathing, and working. This affects your muscles, lungs, and skin and has led to the high possibility of small fiber neuropathy. Small fiber neuropathy attacks your hands and feet with shooting pain and burning sensations throughout the body. Unfortunately, this has now affected her medical bills and our other daily expenses.
This was truly hard to write because as a daughter it hurts to see your mom suffer every day knowing you can only do so much to help. With medical bills piling up from appointments, procedures, and medication, we don’t know where else to turn. We have exhausted all of our emergency funds.
Mentally, this has been a difficult challenge. Financially, this has been a difficult challenge.
Anything, and I mean anything, helps.
