Light a Candle amidst Darkness Surrounding Majd, the Gazan
Donation protected
Hello,
I'm Majd, accustomed to being a university lecturer, operations assistant, and freelance writer and translator. But now, I'm barely alive, barely human.
It's been ages, and this relentless war in Gaza continues to extinguish hope within me and my family mercilessly. We reside in northern Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is much worse than can be imagined. We endure continuous famine and rampant chaos.
I have endured and continue to endure difficult circumstances, between losing over 120 family members and burying loved ones twice, and witnessing loved ones dying of hunger with nothing I can do about it, as I am without work or a source of income. Everything is falling apart, even my soul.
Your donations will help me stay alive and live with dignity. They would help if I and my family were forced to leave Gaza and go to Rafah near the border, covering the travel costs to the travel agency, evacuating the hell-like Gaza. Also, if we remain in Gaza, your donations will help me provide food and medicine for my family and all the destitute around me. For your own knowledge, goods prices in North Gaza are higher than any other place around the world due to the ongoing siege and obstacles.
Every dollar donated will make a difference and will be a glimmer of hope in this path full of humiliation, hunger, and oppression.
Being in Gaza is the most despairing, thus lethal hope I have ever encountered. It is the darkest light, the ugliest beauty, the driest irrigation, the bloodiest treatment, the craziest sanity, and the final beginning of the very same first war of 1948; therefore,
be a candle in my vast darkness before it is too late.
