Little Bella-Rose and her family
Donation protected
Hi Everyone, a few of us Mum's who have children in Barbour Ward at the Sick Children's Hospital in Belfast are fundraising to help support the family of a very sick little baby named Bell-Rose Moran.
Bella-Rose diagnosis once the genetic results came back was called 'RENAL Hepatic Pancreatic Dysplasia Type 1.'
Bella-Rose was born on 27th August 2023 weighing a beautiful 7lb 8oz, when born she presented as healthy as at the neonatal scan her parents were told all was great. When Bella-Rose was born she was breathing heavy which everyone thought was mucas from birth but she then exceeded to breathe heavy past the stage neonatal would like. The following day her parents were told she had a collapsed lung, then day 2 her creatinine levels were very high. On her third day outside the womb they were informed she had a genetic condition. At first before testing what was initially thought to be ARPKD, she was later transferred to the Royal were she continues to be. She has never got home to be with her family. She was stage 4 kidney failure when born and developed stage 5 at just only 3 weeks. At 4 weeks old she required dialysis. They were told she would need both a kidney and liver transplant. As months passed she had infections after infections and she is currently in PICU struggling with fighting off sepsis and is so overloaded with fluid that dialysis isn't working the same. She is currently on a ventilator and requiring so much support as the build up of fluid in her lungs and around her wee heart she is unable to cope with this herself.
Bella-Rose's parents Emma and Paul have never had her home from hospital, even for a few hours. They have another wee boy at home who is just under 2 years old. They live in LondonDerry and have just eaten through all their savings in travel costs, diesel, affording food to eat while staying in hospital for the last 5 months. Regardless of their situation the house bills are still coming in too, the rent especially. Then there's the cost of nappies, putting clothes on the children etc...
This family is going through such a difficult time and there is no sign of it easing up for them any time soon. As Mother's who understand the struggles of lengthly hospital stays know of how expensive everything is and the stresses of having very sick children to look after too its just not easy. So if anyone can spare even a few pounds to help this amazing family out we would be so so thankful.
