LITTLE BUS BIG RIDE - by the Emerton Brothers (LEJOG)
Donation protected
To celebrate our family business turning 100 years old, we are to embark on the adventure of a lifetime in attempt to raise vital sums for three incredible charities. Our journey will begin in Cornwall on Good Friday, when we will attempt to navigate a 950 mile trip from Lands End to John O'Groats driving our 1940's miniature bus.
Standing at just 3ft tall and 8ft long, our road legal little bus was built in Brighton in 1948 and operated as a fairground attraction, giving children small rides up and down the seafront. With minimum ride comfort, slow speeds and unprecedented journey length, this tour of the United Kingdom makes for an exciting challenge like no other.
The ride will be completed by the three Emerton Brothers who are the fourth generation of Emerton Roofing in Nantwich, Cheshire. They hope to use their resources to raise significant sums to help three children charities who carry out the most precious work.
Funds raised will be split equally split between:
1) Hope House Children's Hospice - Hope House Children’s Hospices is a charity that gives every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.
2) The MPS Society - The MPS Society provides support to families affected by rare genetic conditions. We raise money and awareness of these conditions through fundraising, information, research and support
3) The Children's Society - The Children’s Society work to transform the hopes and happiness of young people facing abuse, exploitation and neglect. They support them through their most serious life challenges and we campaign tirelessly for the big social changes that will improve the lives of those who need hope most.
Every child and young person battling an illness or difficultly deserves to experience moments of joy, comfort, and love during their journey. By donating to support these three charities, you are providing much-needed support, care, resources and research for these brave souls. Your contribution can help ease pain, bring smiles to their faces, and create precious memories for them and their families. Your generosity can make a world of difference in the lives of many, offering hope and comfort in their darkest moments. Please consider donating today and be a source of light and love for these courageous young people.
