ABOUT THE FILM - LOGLINE & SYNOPSIS

A voiceless young girl uses her obsession with Charlie Chaplin to escape the chaos of her broken family.

Little Chaplin is the poetic and stylized story of a 14-year-old autistic girl, Emma, who uses Charlie Chaplin to escape the emotional toll of her family's breakdown. She befriends the brilliant Daz, who teaches her to find her voice, leading to a traumatic event that ends up saving her family in the process.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT - WHY MAKE THE FILM?

"When my daughter was 8 years old, she discovered and became obsessed with Charlie Chaplin. She fell in love with the character and began dressing like him daily, mimicking his mannerisms, and even writing letters to him. Fascinated by Chaplin’s artistic genius and his ability to inspire nearly a century later prompted me to write a poetic and surrealist story set in contemporary times." - Alfonso Campos, Writer & Director of "Little Chaplin"

WHY CROWDFUND?

The film includes beautiful fantasy sequences which require elaborate production design and costumes. Other scenes feature stunts which cannot be performed without a stunt coordinator. Our biggest challenge to date is the ability to raise our goal budget in the small time frame of a few weeks. Production is starting in mid-August and your contributions would be greatly appreciated for us to fully realize the story with all of the needed elements.
