Little Danca: Investing in Jamaica’s Youth
Donation protected
My name is Blacka Di Danca and I’m on a mission to give back to the Jamaican community and culture that has given so much to me. I’m a professional choreographer, artist, and ambassador, and I have dedicated my life to the service of others by using my talents to help improve the lives of those in underrepresented communities. Today, I am asking for your help in funding the “Little Danca” program in 2023.
Since 2016, Little Danca has offered a unique opportunity for children to learn dancing and express themselves in a safe and nurturing environment. Dancing is a great way to practice self-expression, build confidence, and interact with peers to build meaningful relationships. Through learning to dance, children can develop a greater understanding of collaboration and communication while creating something beautiful.
With your help, donations will go towards staffing, uniforms, school supplies and scholarships. We can also reach our goal of having the Little Danca program within more schools and Cub Scouts Programs by the Spring of 2023. A portion of the donations will go towards rebuilding the Kidz Kastle dance studio in Kingston. We would like to install new wooden floors and mirrors, which will serve as a safe space where children can shine.
One of our main goals is to hire local dance instructors, which will provide sustainable income for them in Jamaica. As the children are training for JCDC, we'll be organizing instructors to come in and train them, in hopes of building championship teams.
