Little Green Sock Project
Donation protected
At Little Green Sock Project we are on a mission to help reduce the effects of poverty within our own community.
1 in 10 children in Trafford are in ‘absolute’ poverty, this rises to 3 in 10 when looking at Manchester as a whole. We felt we had to act.
We started our project 12 months ago, and in this short space of time we have supported over 350 children, distributing over £45,000 worth of clothing and essential items to families living in hardship in Trafford.
Our wonderful community has donated over 5 tonnes of clothing donations.
We work with a wide range of referral partners from health and social care professionals, to schools, domestic abuse charities, and other organisations supporting families in hardship such as HomeStart, Stretford FoodBank.
We need your financial donations to help us continue our vital work and grow our project.
- £15 donation will ensure a child has a pack of new underwear, socks and some toiletries alongside their preloved clothing bundle
- £20 donation will ensure a child has adequate footwear for school, or a warm coat
- £30 donation will purchase a stairgate for a family to keep little ones safe in their home
- £40 donation will allow us to purchase a new mattress for a preloved cot, making sure babies have a safe place to sleep
- £50 donation will cover our costs to run a large volunteering morning where over 15 clothing bundles could be made up and distributed and a large amount of our donations sorted through.
- £100 donation will purchase underwear for 30 children
