Little Guys Little Heart Condition

As many of you know, my partner Caitlyn and I are expecting our little guy on January 23rd 2023. What we didn't expect was that that young man would have a serious heart condition requiring surgery. 

Our little champ has a condition called "Transposition of the Great Arteries",  in which his main arterial Valves are going into the wrong spot in the heart. This is accompanied by a hole in his heart. This means that the red and blue blood flow are traveling to the wrong spots and if not treated, can have a fatal result. Our son is in Stage 3, which means he will receive surgery within 1-3 days of birth. He will undergo a surgery of 4 hours, followed immediately by a minimum of 7-10 days in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at SickKids. He will then remain in the Care Unit at Sick kids for 2-4weeks 

Where we need help?? Financially, this was very unexpected. As well, as many of you know I'm a very nurturing and protective human. I will be continuing working my two jobs, but will be commuting from Hamilton to Toronto every day. My partner was forced by our Doctor to take immediate early leave as she is considered high risk.  On top of this, due to our proximity to SickKids, we do not qualify for Ronald Mcdonald house. The hospital gave us two options outside of driving 90 minutes back and forth from our home. One is a hotel that is roughly $200 per night as a deal with the hospital, the other, is a condo short term renting system which works out to just shy of $1000 per week.

As of right now, we are estimated at a maximum 5 weeks of Accomodations $5000.00, commuting $35/day maximum $1050.00,  parking we are trying to find a pass but at the moment is $20 per day. 

With our highest hopes, our son will be out in 3 weeks opposed to 5 but this is our worst case scenario. Any extra money that we receive towards assisting us in this time of need will be donated back to SickKids Hospital to help other families in need.
