Little Leo’s open heart surgery at a day old.

On the 3rd of September 2023 at 5:30am little leo was born via emergency c-section. Leo was born with a a heart condition called TAPVD, Which is The Pulmonary Veins that carry blood back to the heart after it has circulated through the lungs are not connected to the left atrium. Instead they are connected to one of the veins from the main circulation so that the blood returning from the lungs drains back to the right side of the right side of the heart. Leo was taken into open heart surgery 12 hours after birth.. surgery went well. Just a very long road ahead.. for the next few months. Leo will need a lot of care after going home.. we need a lot of things to get him through including monitors. Once Leo is home there will be lots of appointments we have to travel for over the next few months. We are from a little rural town in Queensland and he is being treated in Brisbane. So we have created this go-fund me as we are needing a little hand over the next few months, as you can imagine being a small business owner, travelling back a forth from our small country town to the children’s hospital, still providing for our children back home, the on going expenses related to Leo’s medical needs and to help pay for ongoing bills and the cost of living for a little while so we can focus on the important things as a family. We will keep updating as well.
