Little Lupe Does it Again
Donation protected
Hello friends,
Our sweet, beautiful little Lupe has maxed out the credit card again. She's at Tufts ER vet right now (HOPEFULLY coming home today!!!) for what appears to be a recurrence of HGE, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. She's receiving fluids, being monitored, and will go home with some meds.
Generally there is only a 10% recurrence rate for HGE so it really sucks that she's going through this again. We're going to try and find out if there's any reason she's extra susceptible and if there's more we can do to prevent it.
If you're able and would like to help out a little bit with this bill, it would be greatly appreciated. At this point it feels ridiculous to even say, "2020, HUH???"
People with pets: HGE can be FATAL quickly especially in small dogs. Signs include bloody poops, generally diarrhea, and vomiting which for us has tended to be that extra credit bile-y puke where they haven't even eaten yet. If your friend has symptoms like this please get them to an ER vet as soon as possible. It's probably best to skip the regular vet if it looks like HGE because they won't have the means to do an IV and monitor, keep overnight necessarily.
