Little Namo - The Upward Facing Desi Dog

NAMO is a little Indian pariah dog born in the streets of Varkala, Kerala.
When she was about 10 weeks old she was attacked in the middle of the night by a big dog that grabbed her by her head and neck, shook her fiercely, and then dumped her, paralyzed and on the verge of dying.
She was left in the middle of trashcans on the premises of a yoga school where the last teacher training of the season was taking place.
For hours she screamed as loud as she could. Dogs howling, while the attacker was still near. At dawn she was found by a student who took the tiny little pup under her wings, hoping to help her heal.
What followed was an incredible journey of pain, love, healing and support. Not only by the student, but by the team mates training with her, doctors, their assistants, a B&B manager, an English woman who helps streets dogs, and a Russian yogi working around the clock with her dog Papaya to feed, nurture and care for as many Varkala dogs as possible, and more.
And then there was tiny little Namo herself.
Visibly in a lot of pain for days on end. Paralyzed in the front side of her body, but wanting to move around every few minutes to try and find comfort. Her mom somewhere on the other side of the walls of the yoga school, at night calling out for her.
Namo has an incredible will to live, strength and resilience, the ability to trust, keep her eyes open and her gaze upwards. She inspired everyone she met, and touched everyone’s heart. She knew how to call for help, and she knew how to receive it. But the hard work, she does herself. She rises and looks up.
Namo is brave, strong, funny, and after everything unbelievably sweet and kind.
She is still in India, getting healthier and stronger every day, learning from all the dogs she lives with and already spreading love to other street puppies.
When she has all her vaccine shots and health checks, she will be prepared to continue on her big journey to fly to the other side of the world to her new home in Amsterdam, with the student that found her.
Since the preparations and health checks costs quite a sum of money, this GoFund is created for Namo. If you want to contribute, whatever tiny amount of money will help a lot. Namo showed how every hand that reaches out to help really makes it ALL happen like proper magic ✨ We are all one.

What is the raised money for exactly?
It is for the absolute minimum costs needed of a few steps of her journey:
- the last months in Varkala & Bangalore (approx. €500)
- moving from Varkala to Bangalore with crate etc.. (approx. €350)
- the rabies testing (€270)
- the travel from Bangalore to Amsterdam (approx. €2575)
- the costs of getting her cleared and picked up in Amsterdam (minimum €1500)
- the first costs of her home / bench, etc.. in Amsterdam (approx. €305)
Papaya & Polina
Anything above the amount needed will go to Namo’s guarding angel Papaya, her Mom Polina and all of the dogs in their family. They are in a half build shelter they had to move to, because neighbors of the previous place keep trying to poison and attack the dogs.
On top of that, Papaya and Polina feed, nurture and rescue the worst cases of dogs in pain in Varkala, every day.
They need money for the food and medicine for the dogs, and the absolute basics like fixing the leaking roof, the grass in the garden being high and full of tics, or their only mode of transportation breaking down.
