Little River Railway Station Revival
Donation protected
The Little River Railway Station is a historically significant bluestone building built in 1864. Currently, even though the actual station is fully functioning, the building is boarded up, unused and in disrepair.
In late 2017 a group of locals formed a committee to seek admission into VicTrack’s Community Use of Vacant Rail Buildings program, which restores vacant and unused rail buildings in Victoria. Over the years we faced a number of hurdles getting this project going, but finally in late 2020, we were accepted into the program – woohoo!!
The VicTrack renovation will restore the building and internal structure to a basic level. But that’s just the building, we now need to fit and furnish it!
We are raising funds to buy tech, furniture and fittings so that the community can get maximum use out of our lovely building. We are working very hard at this, but need some help! Thank you.
