Access to After-school Care #kidsyoga
Hi all!! I started The Little Yogis program on September 21, 2016. We we're just a program based in over 80 schools prior to the pandemic. Our program consist of lots of yoga fun, being active, being social, and fun mindfulness activities.
During the pandemic, though the schools were still shut down, I had to definitely return back to work and opening a studio seemed like the best idea at the time. If we can't get to our students, then maybe we can bring them to us. Well, I definitely was not prepared for the constant pivoting trying to navigate opening a studio and growing with all of the fun changes. But this is one thing we teach our children in our classes, how to better cope with transition.
And here we are almost a year later. Survived. But now we are trying to press pass survival mode and thrive. Every year prior to the pandemic we would run a fundraising campaign "For the Love of Yoga" to give kids free classes, free summer camps, free field trips, give them access to things they would not otherwise have.
This year we are really excited about launching our after-school program. We are trying to service our parents with being able to pick up their children from their school. In order for us to do so, we need multiple vehicles, supplies, and materials. We are not only enhancing our efforts to help the working parents. We are most importantly giving children access to extra-curriculars, clubs, and activities they would not be able to attend because their parents are working. We are also able to employ more people, providing job opportunities to others as well. In lieu of Covid, we have had to transform The Little Yogis Studio multiple times to keep spreading yoga, coping skills, and emotional regulation. This alone takes a toll on any small business, but we are still churning with good faith.
We would be honored if you helped us reach our goals and get us rolling on wheels to provide this wonderful after-school program. Thanks in advance. Between yoga, fun, and the life skills we are teaching, this is truly a gift that keeps on giving. Thank you all so much for your support.
