The Loss of Little Daxton

For those of you unfamiliar with Tabatha and Sheamus they have been together for 18 years now. They have a long and exciting love story that has taken them around the world, falling in love, and getting married. Through their combined love, 5 years ago, they made the most wonderful and loving son, Kieran. With the joy of finally having their 1st child, after difficulties with conceiving, they happily chose to try to have another. Sadly, as a couple they have gone through a rollercoaster of a journey trying to become pregnant. With 4 miscarriages throughout the years, it became more difficult to bear that kind of news. So, when their pregnancy with little Daxton continued on a positive trajectory they were overjoyed. Kieran was so excited to be a big brother, and was looking forward to helping mommy and daddy out…except with poopy diapers. He was looking forward to picking out a “Lovey”, stuffed animal with attached blankie for his new brother. Tabatha and Sheamus did all the “right things” you do when pregnant, following doctors’ orders, eating healthy, and gentle exercise. However, it is with a heavy heart that I must share this news. Our sweet sister Tabatha and her loving husband Sheamus have just gone through a devastating loss. On Tuesday 4/3, Tabatha went into preterm labor at 31 weeks gestation. Within the hour she was having an emergency C-section. Her room was packed with what must have been 20 people with specific jobs, all focused on mommy and baby. Within that room there were 6 to 7 Specialists specifically waiting for the arrival of the baby. During preterm deliveries it is normal to have specialists, due to the potential of underdeveloped systems of the baby. With that said, they were ready and waiting to tackle any obstacle presented to them. When they finally delivered their son in the evening they brought him directly to the team to be assessed, and hooked up to all the vital equipment, like a respirator to help him breathe. Unfortunately, after an hour or more of the Team working on him, Daxton sadly passed away. This is the most heart wrenching news any parent could ever receive. The hospital has been unbelievably helpful and kind. They granted them the ability to hold and cuddle their sweet little boy until it was time to let him go. Now they are home and desperately trying to heal through this lengthy grieving process. On another note, Kieran has told his mommy and daddy that he will still like to buy Daxton’s “Lovey” so that he may sleep with it since little Dax cannot. Not only are they heavily burdened with grief and trying to continue to mentally and emotionally be there for Kieran, but also burdened with mounting hospital, mortuary and funeral bills. Thus, we are reaching out to you, friends, family, and community to help with anything that you possibly can. We know this won’t bring little Daxton back, but we are hoping it will help lift the additional financial strain and allow them to grieve without having to deal with that burden and financial reminder. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading this, and understanding the difficult time Tabatha, Sheamus, and Kieran are going through. If you are able to help please know that your gift is beyond appreciated and we can never thank you enough. If for any reason you are unable to help financially, your prayers, loving, and supportive words are gladly accepted.
He will be forever in our hearts, sweet little Daxton…
With a grieving heart,
