LITTLE DANCA Program For Kids

Donation protected
In 2002, I began my journey towards globally establishing, building and promoting dancehall culture – the culture of Jamaica. Since then, I’ve taught workshops in over 40 countries and 100 cities, including South America, Canada, Europe, and Russia. In 2016, I was officially signed to Red Bull as an athlete- becoming the first dancehall dancer & choreographer to partner.

Little Danca is an organization working within communities using dance to educate and empower youth- providing opportunities and resources that inspire positive social change and sustainability. We support dance educators dedicated to the career development of the next generation of dancers.

We believe children to be the epicenter of positive social change. By inspiring and supporting youth to dance in their early years, we believe dance education fortifies positive social roles and responsibilities within them. Dance is used to build self-identity, and promote self-expression while integrating personal health and community responsibility. As a universal language, dance breaks stigma and bias by introducing us to new connections while reshaping our thoughts through movement. We understand that children will integrate values learned in early education into their future leadership structures.

Interview with Blacka

We envision a world where children can cultivate their dance dreams from the earliest level of education.

Little Danca is based out of the St. Martin De Porres basic school in Gordon Town, Jamaica. We have about 50 children between the ages of 2 - 6 years in our program and our goal is expansion, starting in New York City and Portmore, Jamaica!

Little Danca and Red Bull

We aim to hire local street dancers in Jamaica to teach weekly dance workshops, providing career sustainability for professional dancers. Young dancers will have the opportunity to be employed in our community program, allowing them to study and train more, staying active and off of the streets, as well as creating sustainable income. In addition to hiring local dancers, we aim to hire a local cab service to safely transport dance educators to and from the program.

With your help, we can keep this program running for a years to come and expand to different global communities! Help us to reach our goal!
