Baby Liv Silvana was born on October 31, 2018 and sadly passed away on January 9, 2019. She spent 69 of her 70 days on this earth in the hospital. Liv was born with a multitude of anatomical complications that required around the clock care. Her loving parents, Adrian and Tanya, spent every day by her bedside; loving her, reading and singing to her and cuddling her. They courageously and confidently learned everything involved in Liv’s extensive care plan so that one day they could go home together. The goal being, Liv grows big and strong enough to receive the surgeries she needed to survive and live a long healthy life. After much preparation the young family was released from the hospital on January 8th. A happy day. A day they had been looking forward to for 69 days. Liv would finally be home to see her nursery so lovingly prepared in a home just recently bought with enough space for a growing family. Tragically, Liv passed away suddenly at home due to complications of her condition. A home once so ready for a family and so full of love and hope is now a constant reminder of a tragic ending to the dreams of this family of three.
The love and support given to Adrian and Tanya from the moment Liv was born has undeniably been the driving force that kept them strong and hopeful. The hopes and dreams that they had just one day before arriving home were suddenly gone. They now need to take time to absorb the journey of the last few months and comfort each other in grief. I hope that the love and generosity of family, friends and community can help Adrian and Tanya move forward; to figure out what to do and where to go without their sweet baby Liv.
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
