If you ever had the honor to be seated at one of Maxx’s tables, you were probably greeted with a chipper “Hey baby” and her signature smile that let you know right away that you were in capable hands for the evening. No matter the gathering, she fit right in with an infectious positive attitude and a smile that invited her friends to dance and sing along like everything around her was just part of a movie.
Whether it was wearing matching outfits to work just for the hell of it or talking for hours just because she was a good listener, Anna “Maxx” Lopez was a great friend who never judged and who was always ready with her rally cry of “Hell yeah, brother!”
While she is survived by her parents, Mr and Mrs Lopez as well as her beloved wiener dogs, Otter Pop and Noodle, as her coworkers and teammates at Sam’s Tavern, we were all invited to be her family. She allowed us to become the support that she needed during some trying times.
While her death is sudden and unspeakably tragic, we would like to embrace that intrepid smile of hers to inspire the change that she would have liked to see in the world. If it is time to have an uncomfortable discussion about domestic violence, we would like to give Maxx the opportunity to help start that discussion.
Her friends and family at Sam’s Tavern would like to celebrate her life and honor her legacy by raising awareness of domestic abuse within the food and beverage service industry. All contributions will go to support programs for domestic violence awareness.
We invite you to help us celebrate and remember Maxx with your fondest memories.
Thank you from her friends and family at Sam’s Tavern.
