Raising for REESE

Life doesn’t always go as planned… on April 5, 2021 Reese Pascarella was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 5. Her parents, Kelly and Darren, took turns staying at the hospital with Reese for weeks, going back and forth between caring for Reese and caring for their other two children at home. While her diagnosis left her family hopeful ( a 90 % chance of recovery after treatment) that hope is slowly fading as Reese has not responded to her treatment as initially hoped. Over the past 4 months she has had a significant number of blood transfusions, 6 lumbar punctures, several bone marrow aspirations as well as continuous chemotherapy. Luckily, she has been home for most of her treatment, only going into the hospital for days at a time.

Reese has shown a great amount of strength through the last few months. We, her family, are all often in awe of her maturity through all of this. She maintains her sweet disposition even when we know she is exhausted.

Unfortunately, the treatment she has been given isn’t putting her into remission. The next phase of treatment will be intense, and will likely lead to a plethora of side effects. At this point, her parents are deciding between CAR T therapy or a Bone Marrow Transplant. Depending on which treatment they and her doctors choose for her, Reese will likely be in the hospital anywhere from weeks to months.

We are hoping to help raise money so that Darren and Kelly can have some financial peace of mind as insurance only covers so much. The last thing we want them to worry about is how to pay their bills while they focus on healing their family.
