Liver Transplant for Mark
In March 2016 my husband, Mark, was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, as well as, cancer in his liver. Mark is a hard-working father, grandfather, brother, son and friend whom would do anything to help those in need.
New Mexico, unfortunately, does not perform transplants of any kind. For that reason, we have been traveling to and from Aurora, Colorado for all medical treatments and appointments for the past year. As you can imagine, the travel costs and medical bills are starting to add up. The financial strain is making it very difficult to continue traveling to and from doctor appointments.
As a wife and mother asking for help is not a very easy thing for me to do. Taking care of my husband is my number one priority. It has humbled me knowing that I am not capable of taking care of him both physically and financially.
Mark is extremely grateful for everyday that he is blessed with. For over a year, our family has been waiting and praying for a liver candidate that can match his blood type. Recently, Mark has been moved to the number one spot on the transplant list in the nation for this procedure. We will be residing in Aurora during the transplant and for after care. We are expected to stay in Aurora for at least two months after the transplant.
Thank you for everyone who has showed concern. Our family is grateful for any prayers, concerns and/or donations. Thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless you and your family.
