Acute liver failure- Cirrhosis of the liver is scarring so severe that your liver can no longer repair itself. This ultimately leads to several different diagnoses due to the liver having a huge roll in functioning every day. A liver transplant is the only option!
Hello, my name is Hannah Harris. I would like to introduce my daddy, Johnnie.
On September 1, my dad was admitted to the hospital with news that I don’t think he ever could have imagined. The doctor gave him 3 months to live unless his liver started working. He was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver, alcoholic hepatitis, ascites where fluid builds up in the stomach, portal hypertension, etc.
My dad was there for a week & was discharged with orders to see a liver specialist.
He took a sabbatical from working 18 years in respiratory back in March of this year which meant he would no longer have health insurance.
My dad has been to the hospital and admitted 4 different times in the past two months.
One of his medications alone cost $5000 for one month!
At this time, we do not have an appointment with Shands in Gainesville, Florida but are hoping we can raise enough money to help towards a liver transplant.
My dad is currently living with me due to his wife being a travel nurse. He is no longer able to drive, take care of himself, and has been a hard transition as a mom of two girls, 3 and 2. But I’m am so lucky to have this time with him.
Please consider donating to help towards medical costs and living expenses for my sweet daddy. A liver transplant is the only thing that will give my daddy a longer life! If you are unable to contribute monetarily, this family accepts all the prayers we can get. Please add us to your list.
