Hiep Vo Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Hiep Vo was a caring father to three children and dedicated healthcare laboratory professional. Hiep served our country in the United States Air Force. After being honorable discharged as a Senior Airmen, Hiep dedicated his career to patient care in multiple professional capacities as a medical technologist, lab manager, and more recently a lab consultant.
What was thought to be flu a few months ago turned out to be liver cancer diagnosis. Hiep's care team worked on a treatment plan to either get him on a liver transplant list but his condition was too severe.
It's with great sadness to report Hiep passed away Monday May 7th at Hospice of San Joaquin in Stockton, CA. He was surrounded by his three children and friends.
We want to continue to raise money to pay for Hiep's medical care, advanced directives, and send the remaining funds to his children. At this time we do not know of any memorial plans. Hiep wanted to be cremated and have his ashes spread in the ocean.
My name is Chris Schmidt. Hiep and I were coworkers and more importantly friends. He asked me to start this page for him to cover his incurred medical expenses and send whatever funds remain to his children. All of the remaining funds will be placed into 529 accounts for his children to use for education purposes.
Kim Oanh Nguyen has been designated beneficiary for this campaign. Kim was given medical power of attorney by Hiep and she agreed to fulfill Hiep's final wishes. Kim has paid for a lot of medical and funeral expenses out of her own pocket. Our plan is unchanged to reimburse Kim for her expenses and send the remaining funds to Hiep's children.
