Lives Saved by 12 year old Girl
Donation protected
Mary McNaughton is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of the Rezaei Family of North Vancouver who lost all their belongings in a fire.
All of you caring people, my name is Mary McNaughton, my husband and I are friends of the Rezaei family, and I am a retired nurse and active member of human rights organization, Amnesty International. This newcomer family needs our help.
The Rezaei family woke to the smell of smoke and fire alarm on the Third Floor of a high rise rental building at 4:15am on Dec 27, they immediately without hesitation went into the apartment hallway, going door to door to wake the neighbors. The 12 year old daughter of the family, Paryas, called 911 and gave the address, and then went running to alert all the neighbors. The family then got themselves to safety. All residents survived the devastating fire with two individuals taken to the hospital for treatment. Paryas has since received a Fire Chief’s Commendation for her courage and bravery: she wanted to be sure everyone got out, and her next door neighbors credit her with saving their lives. The newcomer family of four; the parents, Paryas and 7 year old brother, are staying in temporary housing, and have lost everything they had. Donations will be used toward the necessities of housing, clothing, furniture, school supplies, and most important…. They are searching for an available rental unit, and similar apartments now cost 25% more than their previous rent. I will be collecting the donations in a bank account dedicated to this fundraiser and transferring the donations directly to the father of the family, Mr. Rezaei, via cheque.
Please support this caring family, any donation to rebuild their lives is greatly appreciated.
