Living expenses for Erica

Hi, my name is Gina Boyce Neal, and on behalf of my sister, Erica Boyce, her friends and I are launching this campaign to offset even a fraction of the expenses impacting her. Since Erica’s initial breast cancer diagnosis, she has been through chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. Additionally, Erica has been hospitalized for adrenal and thyroid insufficiency over the course of her diagnosis, which prompted her to discontinue her therapy due to fear it was going to be her demise instead of her savior.

Upon meeting with her specialist this week, he has assured her that the immunotherapy was what destroyed her glands. Easing her mind and convincing her chemotherapy will cure her. With that being said she has agreed to continue. As far as a treatment plan, he has determined that several more rounds of chemotherapy and other treatments are necessary. Not only will Erica have the added expense of medical care, but she has had a complete loss of income as she faces this challenge. She is not able to work as the complications have not enabled her to physically endure activities outside of rest and healing.

She is currently in the process of filing for disability, but this will cover a minimum of living expenses. We hope that with your help, 100% of Erica’s energy can be focused on getting her body, mind, and spirit through this treatment without the added stress and distraction of a financial burden. Our initial goal is set at $5,000 which will cover a small part of her immediate living costs and begin to compensate for lost wages since she cannot work. Erica plans to return to work, but depending on the length of her course of treatment and how well she tolerates it, there could be a future need to raise that goal until she is able to be employed again.

You might know Erica from her days of growing up in Marietta and living there as an adult on several occasions. Perhaps you may know her as a family member or through a friendship developed in her adult life. Regardless of how you met, we would all agree Erica is an intelligent, beautiful, funny, loyal, and generous person to all who know her. She can beat this, and has much life ahead of her with great things to give to the world.

With your help, we can get Erica through this and healthy again so she can enjoy all the things she loves doing—as quickly as possible and without the anxiety caused by the financial burden of a large medical debt.
