Living through Lymphoma as a disabled trans person
Donation protected
My name is Liv Cocozza; I am a trans person surviving through a cancer diagnosis.
In September of last year (2023), 3 days after my 25th birthday and one day after moving into my first apartment with my partner, I was diagnosed with stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
My diagnosis turned my life upside down; I left my two jobs, and I put my entire focus on getting through cancer treatment. This meant relying on my family and partners to support me during my treatment full-time. I have struggled to balance medical bills, our newly acquired rent, car payments, loans, and general living costs through this.
This has been a deeply traumatic experience and has left me needing extenuating care from my mental health and social work team. As I am continuing my treatment, I will be unable to return to work.
These funds will be used to pay off my medical debt accrued during my treatment and recovery, rent, and general cost of living while I am still out of work.
I am forever grateful for the ongoing support my family and community have provided me through this. Thank you.
