Liz Parr & Family Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief

Hi, my name is Amanda Rice and I am starting this campaign to help some people very near and dear to me, my friend Elizabeth Parr and her family. We are located in Winter Springs, FL.

I am fundraising for disaster relief funds for Liz and her family. All the proceeds will go towards replacing home items, clothing, vehicles and temporary accommodations due to the devastating Hurricane Ian.

This morning around 4:45am Liz sent me a video showing some flooding that began to cover her living room floor and hallways. By 5:45am another photo that showed water intrusion that reached the top of her coffee table. At this point she was getting really scared as her daughter Alexis was home along with her partner, Chris and the rain rain from Hurricane Ian wasn't showing any signs of slowing down. 30 minutes later another photo and if you can imagine it just kept getting worse from this point on.

Ultimately the flash flood in her home left her and her family stranded on the top bunk of her sons bedroom set. The water at this point was up to the window seals of the bedroom, the front and backyards basically a lake. They tried at one point to leave and deemed it incredibly unsafe and had to wait it out till Seminole County Fire and Rescue were able to rescue them by boat from their flooded house.

I've attached a few photos to show the dire situation she was faced with this morning. It's absolutely heartbreaking as this is a devastating loss for Liz and her family. Cars, home furnishings, clothing, all impacted by the flood.

This will most undoubtedly displace Liz and her family from her current home for quite some time. They have lost everything which is completely unimaginable to me, and I am truly incapable of putting a monetary dollar amount to start this off with. I've started this campaign at $35,000 in hopes this is just the beginning to help Liz, Chris and Alexis begin to rebuild their lives. All the proceeds will go towards replacing any lost items due to Hurricane Ian, to include vehicle replacement, clothing, home furnishings and temporary accomodations.
