Liz & Sean's Adoption Journey

Liz & Sean recently shared with friends and family that they are adopting! They have been fairly quiet about their journey so far, but Liz & Sean have been trying to start a family for years. They thought it would have happened by now, but our plans are not always God’s plans. After infertility appointments, lots of prayers, and seeking God’s guidance, they feel called to adoption.

Liz & Sean are so excited to have a family, but they quickly realized they cannot do this alone. They were shocked to learn domestic adoptions range from $30,000 - $60,000. According to the Dave Thomas Foundation, two-thirds of Americans have considered adoption, while only 2% have actually completed an adoption. The high cost of adoption is the number one reason people do not choose adoption as a way to build their family.

While they have the means to financially support and care for their child once they're here, the reality is that there is a substantial amount of money needed upfront to bring their child home. Through the agency they carefully selected, adoption is expected to be $42,000. They have been saving up and have about $5,000 so far, which leaves them with around $37,000 left to invite their child into their home.
