PARENTS KNOW BEST!
When I graduated from LVN nursing school my dad wrote in a card "Honey, your hard work has started to pay off. Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of your dreams!"
I WANT TO INSPIRE OTHERS
4 years ago I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy- a chronic neurological disorder that affects the brains ability to control the sleep- wake cycles. Despite being tired ALL day everyday, I continue to pursue my goals. Some days are harder then others but I refuse to make excuses and give up on my dreams. I want to inspire others by showing them no matter struggles you face in life, no matter how hard you may have to work, nothing is impossible. Ironically, it wasn't until after my diagnosis that I started truly started to thrive. I made the personal decision to make adjustments to my career path and pursue a degree in Child Development.
Due to my determination I've been nominated by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society "based on my exemplary academic performance" to attend the 2018 International Scholar Laureate Program: The Delegation on Nursing and Health Care in South Africa!
