LKN Chamber Helping WNC Neighbors Needing Hurricane Relief

I received a literal and figurative wake-up call today with a request to help source mattresses, cots, and blankets for an emergency overflow shelter in Lake Lure. Victims, volunteers, and first responders in need of shelter will have a place to sleep tonight because we were able to purchase these items and get them in transit and delivered within hours of the request.

If you're like me, you want to help but might not have the ability to make daily trips to the mountains. Or, maybe you're overwhelmed and not sure where to donate.

Exit 28 Ridiculousness has proven to be a powerhouse in the past, and I realized today that it is a natural gateway to make a huge impact on our neighbors in need. The reality is, our community was spared a catastrophe, but there are thousands of people within an hour of us in dire need of basic necessities to just survive, and that won't end anytime soon.

I have set up this GoFundMe to replenish those funds so that we may be able to continue to purchase items in need and by request, that will be delivered where and as needed daily.

Your donation will be distributed to the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce Foundation on behalf of Exit 28 Ridiculousness and is tax-deductible. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and I will guarantee that 100% of the funds will be accounted for and used to fund only WNC hurricane relief efforts. I will share updates on purchases and deliveries that have been made possible solely because of your Exit 28 Ridiculousness donations.
