Hi, my name is Stefan Booth and I am the grandson of Lloyd and Robbie Booth, who just recently lost everything in a terrible house fire. This house was more than a house, it was a home because of the people that lived in it. They have lived in this house for forty-five years. My mom, Rhonda Spencer, was raised in this house from a young age. She was only eight years old when they moved here! I was born into this house and it was my whole life.
On December 16, 2022, a fire broke out in the back room where a dog resided. The dog was able to escape through the back door and my grandma was fortunate and got out through the front door. My Papa was on his way to a funeral when he got a phone call that changed his life. His wife called him to say that the house was on fire. He rushed back to the house and without knowing the dog, Simeon, got out, he went in to try to save him. A kind police officer that was first to the scene was able to help Papa out of the house and get him and Grandma to safety. While assessing the fire in the backyard, a firefighter noticed motion out of the corner of his eye and located Simeon hiding in a hole. The firefighter that found got him to safety in his vehicle. Sadly, two cats that resided in the home did not make it out. They will be sorely missed.
After the fire was put out, the city deemed the property uninhabitable and will need rebuilding to be able to be lived in again. This property has been in our family for decades and we hope to rebuild for the future. Papa and Grandma are people of faith and if you know anything about them, you know that they firmly believe that they are in the best hands, God's hands!
Any help you can give, we greatly appreciate and you will forever be in our thoughts and hearts.
