Christmas Eve Fire - Recovery
Donation protected
On the morning of Christmas Eve (12/24/2015), my parents Gary & Gail Lloyd were shocked & overwhelmed to find that my dad's locked business trailer, which was parked in their driveway, was in flames. Something inside the trailer had caused the fire to start, and by the time they found it, it was beyond saving. It also burned the side of the house, and blew out multiple windows.
My dad runs his business "Lloyd Construction" from that trailer, and uses it to store & transport his tools & equipment. The equipment inside of the trailer was between $30-40k. He had accumulated the tools & equipment in his 40+ years of being in business.
His insurance paid off what was owed on the the trailer, and will only pay up to $5k for the equipment inside, and at this point they don't even know if they'll get that. He now has no trailer, and hardly any tools left. His business, which has always supported our family (and is now my parents only income), has taken a huge blow.
My mom was a wreck, shaking as she called me to tell me what had happened, which broke my heart. It was Christmas Eve, and they are the absolute most generous, selfless, and loving people I've ever known. Anyone that knows them, knows what amazing people they are. They've opened their home to so many over the years. If anyone deserves a great blessing, it's them. I know they would never ask for anything from anyone, which is why I'm asking for them. While so many others were receiving gifts, my dad had to watch as his business burned. My mom tells me that my dad hasn't been the same since it happened, and they don't know what they're going to do.
Here's what I'm asking for. If you can give anything, anything at all, it will go a long way in helping my parents recover from this terrible situation, and allow my dad to start purchasing some of the items that were lost.
I also ask that you please share this, so that it can reach more people, and hopefully bless my parents.
